Arts in education

Arts in Education is a committee made up of representatives from each grade level as well as special area teachers, PTSA members, and administration. The goals of this committee are to expose each student to an arts & cultural experience at every grade level. This committee has been greatly supported by the members, administration and PTSA.   As a committe we would like to thank the elementary school PTSA for the support of our mission and the financial support they provide for us.

Spa Little Theater

In December, students viewed a performance of "The Snow Queen".

 

1st: 

Chinese Acrobats

In May, students will witness a performance by Chinese Acrobats!  This is a great multi-cultural program that ties into classroom language activities and the art curriculum.

 

2nd: 

Dave Ross - Children's Book Author & Illustrator

In January, second grade students met Dave Ross to learn how books are fun.

Colonial Day

Second grade classes will also be adding performances funded by AIE to there Colonial Day celebration on May 16th.  This will be a day filled with art, games and lessons on colonial life.

3rd: 

The Hyde Collection

In November students visited the Museum to learn about Italian art and architecture.

Pecos Bill

In February, third grade students will meet "Pecos Bill" which will tie into the third grade literary curriculum.

MULTIPLE Grades : 

Lake George Opera Festival

In March, students in grades K-2 will view a performance of "Pinocchio".

Cafe Musical Lunch Series

Beginning in February, students in all grades will be treated to lunch-time musical performances by local artists, such as:
