Board of Education Goals:
STRATEGIC
PLANNING : Work on the next stages will continue.
- All employees will understand the meaning of our mission and their roles in achieving it.
- The K-12 curricula will continue to be clearly defined, articulated, and assessed (continued work on the Curriculum Manual, flexible grouping, and curriculum renewal).
- All teachers will continue to be trained in research based teaching strategies that focus on student learning.
- The trust survey will be readministered. Results will be reviewed and appropriate actions will be taken in response to the results.
- The BOE will ensure the continuation of the strategic plan through 2010.
ACADEMIC: QUFSD will make progress toward being the most highly rated school district in the region as measured by state assessment data. (e.g. State Test, graduation rate, pass/fail rate, attendance rate, college attendance rate, acceptance at prestigious colleges, standardized test, qualification of faculty and staff [i.e. national board certification]).
SITE
PLAN: The Board of Education’s approved comprehensive site plan will be developed into stages that phase in the plan. The Board will present a capital referendum to the voters to take advantage of EXCEL state aid funding and to include components of the Site Plan as appropriate.
NEW SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH: The Board of Education will develop a process for selecting and hiring the next Superintendent by May 2008. This process will involve a variety of key players, such as district administrators, staff, students, and the community.
BUDGET: The Board of Education will adopt and present a budget that will maintain and improve our educational program, be fiscally responsible and be approved by the voters in May 2008.
