Who made the work of art?
Why was it created?
What need or inspiration helped to
devlope this piece of art ?
What does the art look like?
What can you see?
What Story does this work of art share?
How do we as Artist's tell our story?
How does art tell history's story?
....plus many more. |
Please check out
individual fourth and fifth grade links for specific projects
and information.
And also Art Club!!!
WHBI Art
We work on many challenging and exciting projects during the school year. Each class in fourth and fifth grade meets once a week for 45 minutes of art. This 45 minutes can be an enriching and rewarding time with just a bit of hard work and quite a bit of fun.
Each student is responsible for bringing a smock and pencil to every art class beginning with the second art class of the year. This counts toward their "being prepared" grade, very much like bringing appropriate gym clothes to gym class.
Also art is assessed using portfolios collected at the end of second and fourth quarters. We discuss the projects we created, the materials we used and our effort, behavior and participation during class.
Special areas including art are graded numerically in the Intermediate Building during second and fourth quarters, this corresponds with our portfolio reviews. A rubric that assesses effort and participation is posted in the art room, is included in Open House information.
