Queensbury schools offer children and staff a choice of well-balanced, nutritious meals each school day. Children who meet federal income guidelines may be eligible to receive schools meals for free or at reduced price. The free and reduced-price meal benefit entitles a student to a full school meal; snacks and a la carte items do not qualify under the program.
To find out if your child is eligible for free or reduced-price school meals and to apply for the benefit:
- Apply Online: Watch the video guide below for step-by-step instructions and then visit http://queensburyufsd.nlappscloud.com to complete an application online.
- Apply by Paper: A paper application is included in the annual districtwide events calendar mailed to student households in August or can be downloaded for printing (PDF).
- Apply Annually: For each new school year, one application must be filed per household listing all the students that reside in that household. Call (518) 824-3605 with questions about your family's enrollment status.
All meals served must meet nutrition standards established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. If a child has been determined by a doctor to have a disability and the disability would prevent the child from eating the regular school meal, the school will make any substitutions prescribed by a doctor at no extra charge. Please note, however, that the school is not required to make a substitution for a food allergy unless it meets the definition of a disability.
