We will have an exciting time in music this year, and I'd like to tell you what to expect.
Students will be participating in a variety of musical experiences to help them continue to learn about the elements of music----rhythm, melody, harmony, form, and timbre. We will also explore the expressive qualities of music.
Singing, moving to music, listening, playing instruments, and composing music are some different ways we will accomplish our goal of making music together.
The Third Grade Chorus is the first choral performance ensemble opportunity in the Queensbury School District. It is a non-graded class and is open, without audition, to all 3rd grade students. Participation in Chorus is separate from music class, and due to student interest, chorus is divided into two equal but separate performing ensembles. Each group rehearses for 35 minutes every Day 6. They will perform in an evening Spring Concert on JUNE 7, 2007 at 7:00p.m. at the High School Auditorium.
We will be learning to play the recorder this year! Each student will purchase their own recorder and will learn how to read music, play songs in unison and provide the melody line in instrumental ensembles. |
