Third Grade

Students have learned about multiple intelligences and particpated in different kinds of activities to figure out what "kind of smart" they are. They used Tangrams and multiplication sticks for Math and spatial smarts. Word ladders were used to practice word smarts.

Third graders just completed entries for a poetry contest. Be looking for their work in, "Words from the Woods."

In January 3rd Graders began their own version of the "crime scene". The case of "Who Stole Mr. Bear?" has been much anticipated. They have made observations and notes about the scene and are currently, working "back at the forensics lab" to analyze the evidence from the crime. Stay tuned for pictures from their investigation!

Fourth and Fifth Grade

A "crime scene" entitled, "The Felix Mystery" was staged in the Enrichment classroom at WHBI. Students acted as Forensic Scientists in order to solve the crime.  Although the crime was set up, it has a very twisted plot and evidence that must be analyzed in detail inorder to draw conclusions about the solution. The solution was derived by the students and the students alone, just as in real life, there is not answer key  in which to "look-up" the correct answer.

Check out the pictures of students analyzing the scene!
