Top Ten Ways to Succeed in Spanish Class:

1. Come to class. You'd be suprised at how simple yet effective this strategy is.

2. Raise your hand, ask, and answer questions. When you raise your hand, it shows you're on task. When you're on task, you learn.

3. Stay after school. Questions on your homework? You have no idea what a verb is? You want to check your progress and or grades? ¡Vengan!

3. Do your homework and do it well. Make the effort. Look back at your notes. Remember: my belief is quality not quantity.

4. Watch TV. Put the closed captioning on in Spanish, turn Univision on, put DVDs in dubbed Spanish or with Spanish subtitles.

5. Listen to music. En español, por supuesto. For a list of good Spanish-speaking singers/ performers, see below.

6. Make flashcards of vocab. Learning new vocabulary through flashcards is a proven effective learning strategy.

7. Practice with a partner.

8. STUDY!! Every night, in addition to homework, look over your notes or where we are in the book. This eliminates the whole need for cramming.

9. Listen to me and follow directions in class. Trust that I do everything in your best interest because I truly want you to succeed.

10. Use this website as a resource to open your mind about the fascinating world of Spanish we are just beginning to unveil.

¡Buena Suerte!
