Finch Paper Employees Share Arbor Day Message with QES
To celebrate Arbor Day, the Finch Pride Team presented Queensbury Elementary School Principal Patrick Pomerville with a white pine seedling and copies of “The Tree Farmer” by Chuck Leavell and Nicholas Cravotta.

Leavell, longtime keyboardist for the Rolling Stones, is also a tree farmer and conservationist. The book is about a tree farmer who takes his grandson on a magical journey through the forest where trees become musical instruments, books, a baby’s crib and more. The story explains the vital role trees have in our lives – such as providing us with wood for furniture, homes and wood pulp for books – and man’s responsibility to protect and care for them.

Pomerville said the tree seedling will be planted in the elementary school library courtyard. The Finch Pride Team is an employee group that strives to improve the quality of life for Finch employees, their families and communities.
