Queensbury Elementary School’s Kindergarten “Round-Up” is
our school’s screening
process for evaluating a child’s readiness for our Kindergarten
program. Children on the incoming Kindergarten List are
given a 45 minute scheduled appointment where your
child and four other
children
will meet and work
with one of our speech and language teachers, a reading teacher
and 2 or 3 kindergarten
teachers. During this time, parents meet individually with our
kindergarten registrar and
school nurse to share important information.

What is the Kindergarten Round-Up List?
Determines the identity of any children who will be
five years of age
on or before
December 1, 2013. These children are then scheduled for Kindergarten
Round-Up in May.

Do I bring anything to Kindergarten Round-Up?
Please
make sure you bring the following items:- Your child's birth certificate
- Immunization records & recent physical information
- Latest report card from any previous Preschool if your child was enrolled
- Custody papers (where applicable)
- Foster care letter (where applicable)
- IEP (if applicable)
- Completed forms listed below as applicable

When do I find out who my child's teacher
will be?
You
are welcome to call 824-1604 anytime after August 15th. If
all the required paperwork is in, we’ll be able to tell
you your child’s teacher’s name. Letters from
teachers are sent out in August.
