All About Me
My name is Toni Wiekierak and I am a fourth grade teacher here at William H. Barton Intermediate school.
I grew up in Syracuse, NY and graduated from Onondaga Central Jr./Sr. High School in 1991. I loved living in central New York, especially apple picking in the fall.
I graduated from S.U.N.Y. Oswego in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. I always wanted to be a teacher. I substitute taught in the Syracuse area for 6 months and then moved to Houston, TX.
Houston was very different from Syracuse and it was hard to adjust to the heat and humidity but I am so glad that I had the opportunity to live there for almost 6 1/2 years. I taught 4th grade for four years and 5th grade for 2 years at Heflin Elementary in Alief I.S.D. in Houston, before my husband and I decided we missed our families and (believe it or not) winter. My husband, my son Zachary and I moved back to New York, June 2002.
We were fortunate enough to both become teachers in Queensbury School District. My husband, Chad, teaches Earth Science in the High School. Since we have moved back, our family has grown from three to four, with the appearance of our son, Connor in June 2003. Also since returning to New York, I have completed my Master's Degree in Education with a focus on the integration of technology in the classroom, through Walden University.
I look forward to a great year this 2008-2009 school year! |
