FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLUB
The WHBI Foreign Language Club is a continuation of the QES Foreign Language Club in which 4th and 5th graders have the opportunity to experience French or Spanish in a fun, interactive way. Taught by our dedicated High School students, the Foreign Language program is composed of 6 one-hour lessons lasting from 2:40-3:15. Students are assigned to small groups of six or seven students to maximize interaction with other students and the teachers. Students can choose either French or Spanish and they do not need to stay in the same language year to year. In "class", students learn the basics of French and Spanish; colors, numbers, days of the week and months, classroom objects, body parts, sports, etc. There is a strong emphasis on oral communication. Students learn songs, play games and work in pairs with an end goal of exposure and awareness of a foreign language.
