Hannaford Helps Queensbury High School
On Monday, May 13, Queensbury Hannaford Store Manager Dorothy Merrill presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to Damian Switzer, Queensbury High School principal. QHS won the grant for being the school to raise the most dollars through the 2012 Hannaford Helps Schools program in Queensbury. Added to the $840 earned through the program, the high school received a total of $1,840.

Under the terms of the program that ran from September 5 to December 5, shoppers could raise funds for local schools by purchasing participating products. More than 2,700 schools in five states participated in the program, raising more than $650,000 overall. In the 11 years since its inception, the Hannaford Helps Schools program has raised more than $6.75 million for participating schools.

Mr. Switzer and Ms. Merrill are pictured with several high school students.
