September: QHS Students Conduct Research at RPI
Four Queensbury students were invited to spend a week at RPI doing research on solar cells this past summer. Peter Dinolfo, a Queensbury alumnus who is a Professor of Chemistry at RPI, invited the students to participate. He approached the Queensbury Science Department with his idea to create a summer session, exclusive to Queensbury students, and proposed his idea to the National Science Foundation. Although funding was denied, Dr. Dinolfo opened his lab to our students for one full week in August.
Ben Anderson, Lauren Bolz, Alex Castonguay and Mike Vasiliou had just completed AP Chemistry and were up for the challenge. This unique opportunity allowed these students to work alongside Dr. Dinolfo and RPI students.
