"Empower all students to be lifelong learners,
inspired to pursue their dreams
and contribute to the global community."

To Our Students,

We are once again at the start of a new school year.  Our summer leisure time activities have been packed away for safe keeping until next June.  We have promised our parents and ourselves that this is going to be the year that everything goes right.

We all have our dreams and hopes for the future.  It is at this time in your life that you want to set yourself up to achieve all your dreams.  Do you aspire to be an actor, singer, engineer, football star, or congressman?
If so, those roads all begin here, and begin today.  It is through the choices that you make now that you will work to achieve your dreams.  It is important to make the right choices in middle school to keep as many doors open as possible so you have choices of where to go in the future.
Make the right choices:

  • Set goals and work hard to achieve them.  We are here to help.
  • Dream big and go after those dreams.  Once again, we are here to help.
  • Make the right choices:
    • Do the dishes for your mom
    • Do your homework for yourself.
  • Attend every class every day.  There is no better way to assure your success.
  • Get active in your school and community.  Join a club, or a sport, or a volunteer organization.  If you don’t know where to turn, ask us.  We’re here to help.
  • Choose to be positive
  • Choose to be organized
  • Choose to stand for what’s right even when others don’t agree.
  • Stick up for the underdog.
  • Be respectful, be courteous.

In the course of your travels throughout the school year remember it is important to protect your valuables when you are here.  Don’t give your locker combination to anyone, and do not leave your belongings unattended.  It is unfortunate, but sometimes things do get stolen.  Don’t leave your backpack lying around unattended.  And please, do not give your computer password to anyone.

If you ride your bike to school you have to wear a helmet on campus.  Please lock your helmet up with your bike so it doesn’t come up missing.  Also, skateboards are not allowed on campus.

I have said several times that we are here to help.  Look to your guideroom guide for help.  If we don’t know the answer we do know who to send you to for the answer.

Stay after with your teachers.  They will be delighted to help you after school.

Talk to your guidance counselors.  They will help you overcome most of your middle school troubles.

Come see me, Mr. Keys or Mrs. Moore.  We would love to give you a hand as well.

You will see some new things this year as well.  It is obvious we are still under construction.  Please excuse the obstacles.  Avoid all construction zones.  The zones are blocked off for your safety.

Also, welcome Mrs. Moore, our new assistant principal when she joins us in October.  In the mean time make sure to say hello to Mrs. Eschler who will be filling in for Mrs. Moore.

Remember that we are here to: Empower all students to be lifelong learners inspired to pursue their dreams and to contribute to the global community.

Have a great day, and a great 2010-2011 school year.

Sincerely,

Mr. Silvernell
