Dear Parents/Guardians:
The 2022 Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, May 7. The Prom will be held from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. at Fort William Henry. A live stream will be provided so family and friends can watch their Seniors arrive at prom. Students are expected to arrive at their designated time. Dinner and dancing will be included. The Senior class has spent many hours in preparation for this event which should provide for a safe and enjoyable evening. Many thanks to the class officers, parents, administrators, and faculty members who have helped us make this event a reality for the Class of 2022.
Ticket sales will take place the week of March 14. Information will be shared via the Google Classroom and on the Remind App. Students can join the class Remind by texting @3c93cg to 81010.
We would like you to be aware of the following policy regarding the use/possession of alcohol, controlled substances and tobacco. Queensbury High School has a “zero tolerance” policy regarding the use of any of these substances. No drinking, use or the possession of any of these substances will be tolerated. If anyone is judged by the chaperones to be under the influence of any of these substances, he or she will not be permitted to attend Prom activities. It will be the responsibility of the parent(s) to provide transportation home. If an individual is involved with drugs and/or alcohol in any way, he or she will be suspended from school as the Prom is a school sponsored activity. In addition, please be advised that Fort William Henry is a smoke/vape free environment.
Please discuss these policies with your son(s) and daughter(s). Advise them that they are responsible for their behavior as well as the conduct of their invited guests.
The Post Prom Committee is sponsoring a substance free supervised Post Prom Party at Lake George Bowl following the Prom from 12:00 a.m – 4:00 a.m. The party will include bowling, laser tag and plenty of food! We are hoping for a large turnout, so please encourage your student to attend.
There is no cost to the students who attend this event. We encourage you to make a donation if you wish, especially since we have only been able to minimally fundraise for this event. Monetary donations as well as snacks would be greatly appreciated. Please make your checks payable to the “Queensbury Post Prom Party” and send them to the high school in care of Mrs. Jen Ramos as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued interest and support of our efforts to create a wonderful, safe and fun evening for all our students. We hope that you will take an active role in encouraging your son(s) or daughter(s) to act as responsible young adults throughout the entire evening.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at the high school—518-824-4640.
Sincerely,
Damian Switzer, Principal
Kerry Rodriguez and Jessica Donnelly , Faculty Advisors to the Class of 2022
