Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Queensbury schools offer children and staff a choice of well-balanced, nutritious meals each school day. Children who meet federal income guidelines may be eligible to receive full schools meals for free (snacks and a la carte items do not qualify under the program.)To find out if your child is eligible for free school meals and to apply for the benefit:
- Apply Online: Watch the video guide below for step-by-step instructions and then visit http://queensburyufsd.nlappscloud.com to complete an application online.
- Apply by Paper: A paper application is included in the annual districtwide events calendar mailed to student households in August or download a PDF version of the application that includes a letter to parents.
Note: Applying online is the preferred way to submit an application. For each new school year, one application must be filed per household listing all the students that reside in that household.
Call (518) 824-3605 with questions about your family's enrollment status. All meals served must meet nutrition standards established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. If a child has been determined by a doctor to have a disability and the disability would prevent the child from eating the regular school meal, the school will make any substitutions prescribed by a doctor at no extra charge. Please note, however, that the school is not required to make a substitution for a food allergy unless it meets the definition of a disability.
