    OCTOBER 2018

    • Review enrollment data and evaluate growth or loss
    • Review facilities and related needs
    • Ongoing review of any special needs/concerns in current budget
    • Review building allocations and building needs

     

    NOVEMBER 2018

    • Review district staffing and long-range budgetary plans
    • Update budget forecast and budget assumptions
    • Review and update debt service schedule
    • Present budget development calendar to the Board of Education for adoption

     

    DECEMBER 2018

    • Administrators and supervisors review staffing, facility, construction, budget allocations, and special needs requests
    • The Facilities, Technology, and Transportation Departments review their budgets, staffing, and long-range needs
      Review of department budgets with supervisors

     

    JANUARY 2019

    • Present preliminary budget forecast and budget assumptions and review the governor's executive budget proposal at BOE workshop in January (Jan. 28)

     

    FEBRUARY 2019

    • Budget presentation at BOE meeting in February (Feb. 11)
    • Budget work session in February (Feb. 25)

     

    MARCH 2019

    • March 1 deadline for submission to the Office of the State Comptroller to calculate the tax levy limit
    • Budget presentation at BOE meeting in March (March 11)
    • Board candidate petitions available
    • Adopt Annual Meeting Notice Resolution and school bus purchase referendum (if applicable)
    • Budget review at BOE workshop in March if needed (March 25)
    • Final review of budget proposal by BOE

     

    APRIL 2019

    • Legal ads published for annual meeting (45 days prior to vote; April 5)
    • Board candidate petitions due by statutory deadline (April 22)
    • Budget adoption by statutory deadline
    • Property Tax Report Card due to SED and newspaper (no later than April 26)
    • Special Meeting - BOCES Election and Administration Vote with BOE workshop in April (April 30)
    • Make arrangements for voting machines, voter registration and prepare absentee ballot applications
    • Publicize budget information and hold budget informational meetings
    • Distribute budget document and required attachments to buildings

     

    MAY 2019

    • Conduct voter registration 5-14 days before vote (May 13)
    • Examine and test voting machine ballot
    • Budget Hearing held 7-14 days before vote (May 13)
    • Mail budget notice after budget hearing, but no later than six days before vote (May 15)
    • Budget vote and board election from 10 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Queensbury Elementary School Gymnasium (May 21)
