• Ron Bacon

    Class of 1994
August 4, 2011- Ron graduated with an associate's degree in Occupational Studies with a concentration in Auto Body Repair from Hudson Valley Community College. He has owned and operated Ron's Auto Body Repair for the past 11 years, which he recently relocated to Luzerne Road in Queensbury. Ron lives in Queensbury with his wife, Megan Allen - Class of 1995, and their two children.
Thinking about the Queensbury School District, Ron is appreciative of the teachers he encountered throughout his school career. In particular, he remembers his fifth grade year with Dan Cottrell and the support he received from guidance counselors. He credits QHS counselor Ken Minges for helping him put together a high school program that supported his career goals. Ron attended the BOCES Vocational Technical Center for auto body repair, a course that he received high honors in, which led to his degree from HVCC.
Ron stays in touch with several of his teachers, including John Strough - a QHS social studies teacher who recently retired. "Mr. Strough encouraged me to relocate my business to Queensbury, a move that feels right. This is where I grew up and where I want to do business."
In addition to being a Queensbury businessman, Ron also gives back to his community by sponsoring the North East Customs Car Show to benefit the American Cancer Society. The 9th annual show will be October 2, 2011, and, as in the previous eight years, 100 percent of the entrance and registration fees go to the ACS. The show is located in the Queensbury high school parking lot.
