A Thanksgiving message of gratitude from Superintendent Gannon

Dear parent(s)/guardian(s),

The Thanksgiving season is traditionally a time to give thanks and although there’s nothing traditional about this year, I want to take a moment to express my personal gratitude to our school community.

Thank you once again for your patience and flexibility throughout this pandemic, and as always, thank you for your partnership with our district.

I am thankful to be able to walk into classrooms and see students sitting in their seats, engaged in learning. I am also grateful for the technology that allows our virtual learners to continue their learning remotely. Thank you for supporting your child and their learning.

This Thanksgiving Recess, I will be reflecting on the pride I have for our district and all we have accomplished so far this school year.

Although our celebrations are going to look a bit different than they have in years past, I plan to keep the tradition of watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with my family before the big meal, something that I did every Thanksgiving during my childhood.

I wish you all a happy, safe and relaxing holiday! Thank you for giving me so much to be thankful for!

Sincerely,

Kyle L. Gannon
Superintendent of Schools
