April 21, 2020 Special Meeting Minutes

A Special Meeting of the Queensbury School Board of Education was held on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 via Zoom.

Call to order

President Borgos called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

The Pledge to the Flag was led by President Borgos.

Motion by Mrs. Holser, seconded by Mrs. Flaherty to approve the following resolution:

Resolved, the Board of Cooperative Educational Services of Washington- Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex Counties is authorized to expend the sums set forth in the Administrative Budget in the total amount of $6,971,669.00 during the school year 2020-2021.

Motion by Mrs. Flaherty, seconded by Mrs. Molloy to cast a ballot for election of members to the BOCES Board of Education (five open seats):

Motion by Mrs. Holser, seconded by Mrs. Flaherty to close Telephone Capital project and transfer the unused balance of the project of $234,269.32 back to the General Fund.

Motion by Mr. Mannix, seconded by Mrs. Holser to approve the surplus and disposal through auction or recycling of the following:

Motion by Mrs. Molloy, seconded by Mr. Mannix to award the following contracts for Phase 2 of the 2016 Legacy Capital Project (voter approved January 2016):

  • Contract No. 1 – General Construction Work Prime Contract (GC) to A.J. Catalfamo Construction Inc. as the low bidder in the amount of $495,800
  • Contract No. 2 – Electrical Construction Work Prime Contract (EC) to Brownell Electric Corp. as the low bidder in the amount of $96,100.

Motion to approve the first reading of the following policy:
