April 27, 2021 Special Meeting Minutes

A special meeting of the Queensbury School Board of Education was held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in the High School Queensbury Room.

Call to order

President Mannix called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. The Pledge to the Flag was led by President Mannix.

Daniel Mannix, Esq., President, Timothy Weaver, Vice President, Stacy Flaherty, Kathleen Holser, Francis Cabana, Patricia Belden, Michael Shea, Ph.D., Amy Molloy, Superintendent of Schools Kyle L. Gannon

Members absent

Clerk of the Board Scott Whittemore

Business items

Motion by Mr. Weaver, seconded by Mrs. Holser to approve the following resolution:

Resolved, the Board of Cooperative Educational Services of Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex Counties is authorized to expend the sums set forth in the Administrative Budget in the total amount of $6,724,328.00 during the school year 2021-2022.

Motion by Mrs. Holser, seconded by Mrs. Flaherty to approve the following resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED that the Queensbury Union Free School District hereby casts a ballot for the election of to the Washington-Saratoga- Warren-Hamilton-Essex Board of Cooperative Educational Services Board of Education to fill five full 3-year terms, ending on June 23, 2024 and three 2-year terms ending on June 30, 2023. (8 open seats)

  • Mr. Gannon provided an update on the following:
    • Senior dinner to be held on May 1st, with 100 students. They can dance in pods of 10. Eating will be in the gold gym and dancing in the blue gym.
    • Prom to be held at the Fort William Henry for this year’s current seniors. Tents will be set up for seating of 10.
    • Graduation – there are three scenarios: Civic Center, football field or the WHBI parking lot. Queensbury will work with WCPH for the total number of people allowed to attend and COVID protocols
    • COVID vaccination clinic for students
    • Mr. Mannix thanked the Board of Education candidates
