The regular meeting of the Queensbury School Board of Education was held on May 10, 2021.

Call to order

Mr. Weaver called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.

The Pledge to the Flag was led by Mr. Weaver.

Motion to approve the minutes of the April 12, 2021 Board of Education meeting.

Motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report for the month of March 2021.

Motion to approve the Clerk’s Report, the Internal Claims Audit Report, the General Fund Revenue Report, the Federal Fund Revenue Report and the School Lunch Fund Revenue Report, for the month of April 2021.

Motion to approve the Extraclassroom Activities Funds Report for the period of January 1, 2021 through March 31, 2021 and the Extraclassroom Activities Funds Report for the period of July 1, 2020 through December 2020.

Motion to approve the following warrants for the month of April 2021:

  • General Fund – April Warrant – $1,941,715.95
  • Federal Fund – April Warrant – $24,807.64
  • School Lunch Fund – April Warrant – $148,464.04
  • MS Crawl Space Project – April Warrant – $3,370.40

Motion to approve the budget transfers for the month of April 2021.

Motion to approve the memorandum of understanding between Queensbury Union Free School District and the Warren County Head Start, Inc. dated 2/14/21.

Motion to enter into a contract with Eileen K. Dashnaw, COMS as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist at a rate of $100.00 per 60-minute session ($50.00 per 30-minute session and $75.00 per 45-minute session) and $400 for evaluation services effective 7/7/21 – 6/24/22.

Motion to approve the consultant contract between Queensbury Union Free School District and Dr. Gina Cosgrove, Chelsea Place Psychological Services PLLC to provide evaluation services for a Queensbury student who attends Vanderheyden School effective for the 2020-2021 school year.

Motion to approve an agreement with Stacy A.S. Williams, Ph.D., NCPS, LP, to provide professional services at the cost of $200 per hour for up to 25 hours effective 7/1/21-6/30/22.

Motion to approve the agreement with Anderson Center for Autism to provide education services for children with disabilities who reside in the Queensbury Union Free School District, effective 7/1/2021 – 6/30/2022.

Motion to award the bid for the recycling and trash removal to Ace Carting for recycling dumpsters and roll-off dumpsters and Waste Management for 6 & 10 yd dumpsters and 35 yd compactors as needed per attached effective 6/1/21 – 5/31/22.

Motion to approve the agreement between Queensbury Union Free School District and Standard Medical Services, a division of Mountain Medical Services, to provide medical services for employees effective 1/1/21 – 12/31/21.

Motion to accept the donation of a Yamaha Trombone, model YSL-200AD, serial #415461 in excellent condition, with a value of $400 from Todd Crawford, with sincere appreciation.

Motion to accept the donation of a Yamaha Trombone, model YSL-354, serial #075320A in fair condition, with a value of $150, and a Conn Rotary Valve Trombone, serial #M22690, in good condition, with a value of $400, from Gary and Jane Gifford, with sincere appreciation.

Motion to approve the disposal through auction or recycling of vehicle #165, a 2004 Chevy Suburban, VIN 3GNGK26U24G263761.

Motion to approve the substitute cleaner rate of pay to $15.00 per hour effective 4/12/21.

Motion to accept the resignation of Matt Burrall, Cleaner, effective 4/23/21.

Motion to establish the hourly rate of pay for election inspectors for the 2021 budget vote at $12.50 per hour.

Motion to approve the appointment of Laurie Anderson as Chief Election Inspector for the May 18, 2021 budget vote/board of education election at the rate of $30 per hour.

Motion to approve the appointment of Eric Anderson, Suzanne Appleyard, Wendy Chocko, Elizabeth Eisenhardt, Kathi Frasier, Diana Kupillas, Jessica LaSarso, Michele Legault, Lois Melleon, June Reamer, Tammisue Sheehan, Susan Vogel, and Geraldine Welcher as election inspectors for the May 18, 2021 Budget Vote/Board of Education Election.
