Benjamin “Ben” Grieco will assume the role of Director of Instructional Technology beginning July 1, 2022. Prior to applying for this role, Grieco has been working at Queensbury UFSD since 2014 in a variety of positions including Business and Technology Department Chairperson for Grades 6-12, Educational Technologist, and Innovations Teacher. He has been a leader in education technology at QHS for 8 years, working as a liaison and a support between staff and administrators, helping with their technology needs.
“As I move into this new role, I am excited to collaborate with Queensbury’s amazing students and staff to provide them with technology tools that promote the best possible educational experience,” says Grieco, “and I look forward to partnering with the community in new innovative ways. I am committed to maintaining the tradition of educational technology excellence Queensbury Union Free School District has established.”
As Director of Instructional Technology, Grieco will utilize leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student, work with the district and individual building administrators to develop and foster technology curriculum integration in classrooms and to implement and support technology-based projects/initiatives across the District, and collaborate with the principals and assistant superintendent on instructional best practices, strategies and professional development needs.
Grieco holds a bachelor’s degree in Technology Education from SUNY Oswego and a master’s degree in Educational Technology from SUNY Oneonta. Grieco also holds a variety of NYS certifications, including the School Building Leader certification, the Educational Technology Specialist certification, and the Professional Certification of Technology Education. He is a proven academic leader and is committed to team-based approaches to drive student progress. He is innovative, passionate about educational technology, and an expert in data-driven results.
