CAPITAL PROJECT 2023

Success for our Future

On Dec. 12, 2023, Queensbury Union Free School District voters will vote on a $39 million capital improvement project titled, “Success for our Future.” A rendering of the proposed new entrance to QES.

The proposed project will completely overhaul the Queensbury Elementary School, which opened in 1969. The project will touch every classroom in the UPK-grade 3 building with new univents, furniture and natural light as well as renovations to the cafeteria and added Learning Commons.

The proposed project will also include construction of two new QES playgrounds — one for UPK and kindergarten students and a second for students in grades 1-3.

The proposed project will also include money for replacement of the Queensbury Middle School rear windows and a new boiler as well as renovations to the bathrooms at Queensbury High School.

Finally, the proposed project will include money for transportation infrastructure changes at the bus garage for the future accommodation of electric buses, including electrification, a new transformer and charging stations.
