The Makery (QES MakerSpace)

  • ABOUT THE MAKERY

The science, technology, engineering, art and math (S.T.E.A.M.) lab at Queensbury Elementary School is a wonderful space for students in grades K-3 to create, innovate, tinker, experiment and explore their imaginations. Students work together to problem solve as they collaborate in fun-filled challenges. They learn as they play, testing materials and properties as well as their own limitless creativity.

    HOW YOU CAN HELP

In the fall, QES will collect materials to use in the Makery throughout the school year. Families who want to make a donation to the Makery can start collecting these wonderful supplies over the summer:

    • Magnets
    • Rubber bands
    • PVC pipe
    • Popsicle sticks/tongue depressors
    • Foam pool noodles
    • Clean, lidded plastic containers (yogurt, etc.)
    • Egg cartons (foam and paper)
    • Bottle caps and corks
    • Clothespins
    • Post-It Notes
    • Cardboard tubes (paper towel, toilet paper, or bigger!)
    • Ribbon, yarn, string
    • Fabric (yardage or scraps)
    • Pipe cleaners

...and ANYTHING else that you think might help us to create and innovate!

Please email art teacher Jennifer Spath (jspath@queensburyschool.org) with any questions.
