Queensbury High School seeks 10 host families for Global Scholars

Explore world cultures with your family in the comfort of home!

10 new international students have been accepted as Global Scholars, but the program needs 10 Queensbury UFSD families to pair these scholars with for either a five-month long stay or a ten-month long integration during the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.

What is the Global Scholars program?

Global Scholars is a Queensbury High School program that allows high school students abroad ages 15-18 to integrate into the United States for either a five month or 10 month period. It is cultural immersion through exploration of a Queensbury education and by living with an American host family.

Who are Global Scholars?

After completing a vigorous application and evaluation process, high-school aged students from all over the world match with a Queensbury family for a 5-month or 10-month integration into American culture.

What is a Host Family?

Host families provide housing and invite their guest scholars into their everyday life, with mealtimes, outings and vacations. In exchange, they build new friendships, explore a different culture, and receive a stipend of up to $5,000 for expenses.
