Adopt A Family
The Family Service Association’s Adopt A Family provides limited gifts, toys, clothes and a holiday meal for children ages 2-18 who are attending school. Call (518) 793-0797 to schedule an appointment starting Oct. 10, 2023. Applications will be taken by appointment only the week of Oct. 16, 2023. Be sure to speak directly to staff as messages may not be returned. Eligibility docs are required at the appointment. They ask that families not use the auto dial app feature on their phone. Family Service Association is full at this time and has a wait list.
Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is taking applications for Thanksgiving, Warm The Children and their Christmas program the week of Oct. 23. All applications will be taken in person at 37 Broad St., Glens Falls. The Salvation Army provides holiday assistance for families in need (one application for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Warm the Children). In-person application will be taken from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Oct. 23 to Oct. 27, 2023, with one evening date from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 24. The following documents are required: SNAP eligibility letter OR photo ID for adults, copies of SS card and birth certificate for all children, proof of residency, and proof of income (W-2 or 2022 tax return). North Country Ministry
North Country Ministry is starting its application process for the holidays the week of Oct. 23. The program serves northern Warren County, which includes the Lake George area and north. Call (518) 623-2829 for more information.
Operation Santa Claus
Operation Santa Claus is currently taking applications. Families in the Glens Falls and Queensbury districts can call (518) 747-2628.
Glens Falls Marine Corps League
The Glens Falls Marine Corps League’s Toys for Girls and Boys will be taking applications for children ages 2-12 who reside in Warren, Washington and northern Saratoga counties (north of exit 15) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Nov. 13 through Nov. 17 at 3033 State Route 4, Hudson Falls.
