Dear parents/guardians,
We are looking forward to welcoming students back from the holiday recess on Monday, Jan. 3. We hope you and your families had a restful break!
On Dec. 28, Governor Hochul announced that over 37 million rapid tests have been ordered by the state and that these tests will be delivered to each school district for use and distribution.
As of this writing, we have not received the testing kits, but we expect them early next week. Once they are delivered, we will notify families via SchoolMessenger with more information. (One test kit per child will be available.)
It is important to note that a negative test is not required to return to school on Monday, Jan.3, however, we continue to encourage our parents and guardians to monitor their child’s health. If your child exhibits any COVID-like symptoms, please do not send them to school and contact your primary health care provider.
Our hope is that by identifying positive cases as soon as possible we will minimize the potential of exposure for our students.
Thank you for your continued support and patience. We will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available. Happy New Year and see you next week!
