QHS chamber ensemble performs at Disney

The Queensbury High School Chamber Ensemble traveled to Walt Disney World in Florida over April break. The orchestra participated in a workshop, had a live performance and enjoyed several days exploring the parks. This is the second time in two years that the Chamber Ensemble has auditioned and been chosen to perform at Disney World.

The Chamber Ensemble participated in a workshop lead by a Disney teaching artist which culminated in a recording of our group performing the music along with Disney’s “Moana”. The students got to explore the demands and requirements of a studio recording environment and what is expected of performers. The kids experienced what life is like for a professional studio musician.

The orchestra also performed live for Disney guests on the Marketplace stage at Disney Springs.

The QHS Chamber Ensemble is directed by Queensbury High School string teacher, Gregory Verheyn.
