The Career Pathways students at Queensbury High School have created a spicy new dish called “Spartan Salsa.”
Students grew green peppers, jalapeños and tomatoes from seeds in the campus greenhouse and garden beds over the summer. The students tended the garden and picked the vegetables when they were ripe.
“We’ve been very fortunate to have access to and utilize the greenhouse and garden beds in the courtyard,” said their teacher Bob Dean. “With all the rain this summer, our vegetable growth has been outstanding!”
The class is accepting donations in exchange for jars of salsa. All the jars have been hot-water sealed and are good for up to three years. If opened and refrigerated, they are good for 18 days.
