Queensbury UFSD is proud to announce that Queensbury High School has won the New York State Excellence and Tournament Finalists Awards at the Northern New York State Vex Robotics Championships.
Out of 51 teams, two Queensbury High School teams qualified for the World Championship: “Cheese”, and “Steam-C”.
“It is amazing that Queensbury Robotics won the championships in both middle school and high school in the same year,” said Ben Grieco, coach and high school advisor of the VEX Robotics program in Queensbury, “Queensbury has one of the most robust robotics programs in the state, starting in 4th grade.”
The 4th grade team won the Excellence Award in their division this year. “I am so proud of the incredible accomplishments we have made in the Capital Region,” says Grieco.
Robotics team members meet two or three times every week to prepare for tournaments and put hundreds of hours in researching, planning, building, team practice, and developing tactics.
