The Queensbury Board of Education appointed Raychel Marcil as the district’s Director of Social Emotional Learning & School Development during its regular evening meeting on Monday, Aug. 9. Marcil began her tenure at Queensbury on Aug. 3

As the Director of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and School Development, Raychel will be responsible for establishing protocols and procedures collaboratively, to ensure the effective implementation of a systemic SEL program to best support the needs of all students, faculty, and staff.
This position will also collaborate with key SEL stakeholders such as students, faculty, staff, administrators, parents/guardians, and community partners and will oversee district-wide school development initiatives to promote equity, diversity, and inclusivity.
Raychel joins us after from Cohoes City School District, where, for the past 15 years, she has worked as a school social worker. Prior to her role in the Cohoes City School District, she worked as the Human Services Director for the City of Cohoes.
Marcil says she is most looking forward to meeting all of the Queensbury staff, students and families, and becoming a part of the Queensbury community.
