Three candidates vying for three seats on the Board of Education
On May 17, 2022, Queensbury voters will elect candidates to fill three seats on the Queensbury Board of Education. Two seats are for a five year term, and one seat is for a one year term. Individuals who receive the most votes will receive the longer term.
Beecher T. Baker, Sr.
Beecher Baker is currently the Superintendent of Schools for Hadley-Luzerne Central School District. He is running for his first term on the Queensbury Board of Education.
Baker is a U.S. Army veteran who served in the 3rd Ranger Battalion at Fort Benning, Georgia. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Education and his master’s degree in Educational Administration from the State University of New York in Plattsburgh. He is a member of the NYS Council of School Superintendents, a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Roman Catholic Church, and a member of the Adirondack Chapter of Certified Football Officials.
He has been a resident of Queensbury for 19 years. He and his wife, Karen, have one child, Chase, a freshman at Queensbury High School.
Bradley J. Goertzen
Bradley Goertzen is the owner and principal broker of Abada Realty. He is running for his first term on the Queensbury Board of Education.
Goertzen earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and received an Emergency Medical Technician Certificate. He is the Chairperson for Queensbury Elementary’s Snack Pack Program, a member of both the Queensbury Elementary and the WHBI Shared Decision Committee, a co-chair of the Southern Adirondack Realtors Young Realtors Network committee, and a member of the New York State Association of Realtors Professional Standards Committee.
He has been a resident of Queensbury for 17 years. He and his wife, Danielle, have three children: Ava, an eighth grader at Queensbury Middle School, Alexander, a sixth grader at Queensbury Middle School, and Abigail, a fifth grader at WHBI.
Daniel J. Mannix, Esq.
Daniel Mannix, Esq., is a partner in Muller and Mannix, PLLC Attorneys at Law. He is currently serving his second term on the Queensbury Board of Education.
Mannix earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Siena College and a juris doctorate degree from Albany Law School. He serves on the Warren County Bar Association, Warren County Bar Foundation, Elks Club, Adirondack Baseball Umpire Association, and is the current Queensbury School Board President.
He and his wife, Bethellen, have been Queensbury residents for 17 years. They have two children, Rachel Beth, a senior at Queensbury High School, and Patrick, a sophomore at Queensbury High School.
