It’s been a busy summer for the Queensbury Music Program!
Student musicians from grades 3-12 (and recent graduates) shared their music with audiences both on and off-campus. For the first time, the Summer Music Academy included two Steel Band Sessions led by Mr. Auffredou. His 3rd-4th grade students performed for their parents in the beautiful fine arts courtyard at QHS.
Also this summer, over 130 band and orchestra students from grades 5-12 performed at the Crandall Park’sPerformance Shell in Glens Falls. There were several groups that included middle and high school bands and orchestras. Students performed music that included, fiddle, patriotic, pop, jazz as well as a student composed piece!
Several orchestra students from the class of 2020 performed in their final concert with current members of the High School Chamber Orchestra. These students reached out to Mr. Verheyn and asked if they could have one last opportunity to perform with the orchestra since they were unable to in the spring of 2020 due to the pandemic. The performance was also at Crandall Park in Glens Falls. This concert gave both students and their families that final musical moment that they deserved and wanted!
