Arrival & dismissal guidelines

September 5, 2018

Dear QES Families,

Welcome back! We would like to provide you with some information that will be helpful to you as students return to school.

It has been a busy summer on campus, with the district’s Legacy 2020 Capital Project construction work well underway. A new campus entrance was completed, which will now offer people two ways to enter campus. Parents coming from the west can enter through the new campus entrance near the high school; parents coming from the east can enter through the main campus entrance controlled by the traffic signal on Aviation Rd.

Student safety is our number one priority. With more than 900 students coming in and out of our building each day, arrival and dismissal is a busy time on our campus. While we encourage our families to have their children take the bus, as it is one of the safest methods of transportation, following these important guidelines is essential if you choose to drop-off or pick-up your child. We appreciate your cooperation with these important safety practices!

Between 8:45-9:05 a.m. *Please note: if you are dropping your child off, students must exit curbside and drivers must remain in their cars. A traffic map will be sent home with students on the first day of school; click here for a PDF.

Regular Dismissal:
K: 3:20
1st: 3:25
2nd: 3:30
3rd: 3:30
Buses leave at 3:40 p.m.

Student pick-up is in the gymnasium. Please send a note in with your child if there will be a change in dismissal, or call the change in before 12:00 p.m. Any changes called in after 12:00 p.m. should be for an emergency situation only and will be sent to an administrator for approval.
