Saratoga Casino & Hotel generously donates to the district’s Snack Pack program

On Monday, Dec. 7, representatives from Saratoga Casino and Hotel presented the district’s Snack Pack program with $2,500, as a kick-off to their 30 Days of Giving holiday campaign.

Since the start of the school year, the Queensbury Snack Pack program has provided food to more than 250 families in grades K-8 with supplemental food over the weekend.

“The Snack Pack program has always been an important program for our families, but even more so during the COVID-19 pandemic, when food insecurity is at an all-time high. We are grateful to be able to continue to provide families with this program thanks to the collaborative efforts of our PTA and local businesses like Saratoga Casino and Hotel. This donation will go a long way in making sure our students have continued access to healthy foods over the weekends,” said Superintendent of Schools Kyle L. Gannon.

Please note, the Snack Pack program is a separate program from the district’s food service. The USDA has extended free meals for students through the end of the 2020-21 school year, or until available funding runs out. This means that all students at QUFSD can receive breakfast and lunch, provided by the school at no cost.
