Tonight’s varsity football game against Scotia-Glenville has been postponed due to a individual on the team testing positive for COVID-19.
The player, who contracted the virus due to community spread, is in quarantine. Individuals known to be in close proximity with the individual are being contacted to discuss any quarantine procedures and other health-related instructions.
The football season is currently on pause until contact tracing is completed.
All COVID safety protocols remain in place, both in-school and on our athletic fields. They include mask wearing, physical distancing, enhanced cleaning and disinfecting, and the Pinpoint daily health screening.
Although cases continue to decline and more people are becoming vaccinated, here at QUFSD, we remain vigilant in adhering to all of the protocols that have been put in place to ensure a safe learning environment for all.
“COVID is still in our community, but this is why we have these protocols in place,” said Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon. “Just like any other case we’ve seen this year, we were prepared to respond swiftly and in the best interest of our students and staff.”
“We look forward to continuing our season, but in the meantime, the safety of our school community remains the utmost priority.”
