Update from Superintendent Gannon (April 24)

Dear Families,

Today marks six weeks of us being out of school and the end of the third quarter. As teaching and learning continues to take place virtually, please know that our faculty and staff are here for your families. Do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers, counselors or principals if you have any concerns. Before we head into the weekend, I have a few updates to share with you.

Third quarter grades now available

Third quarter grades were posted in the SchoolTool Portal today. If you need help accessing the portal, please watch this video. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher or guidance counselor.

Third quarter grades for students in grades K-12 were based on the entire marking period. Consideration was given to the level of student engagement and work completed during virtual learning. Our goal was to ensure students were not penalized during the adjustment period to virtual learning.

Temporary grading procedures

Temporary grading procedures that will be in place for students for the rest of the 2019-20 school year can be found on our website, along with frequently asked questions (FAQs).

QES has been named a “Recognition School” by the NYS Education Department for high academic achievement and student growth during the 2018-19 school year! Recognition Schools are identified as such because they:

Way to go, QES! We are so proud of our elementary students, staff and teachers!
