At 8:52 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, a Queensbury Union Free School District employee was struck by a vehicle on campus as the employee was directing traffic.
The staff member was transported to Glens Falls Hospital by emergency services, who responded to the scene within minutes. The staff member is being evaluated at this time.
The driver was alone in the vehicle after dropping students off on campus.
The employee was wearing a high-visibility traffic safety vest.
The district’s school resource officers, the New York State Police, Queensbury Central Fire Department and West Glens Falls EMS were on scene. The matter is being investigated by the State Police.
“Safety is paramount at all times on our campus,” said Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon. “Please be aware and vigilant of all individuals leading our traffic patterns as well as any vehicles or students moving on campus.”
