The second Parent Workshop of the year is intended for parents and caregivers of special education students.
Colleen Lester, an educational consultant and former elementary principal, will conduct a virtual Parents as Partners webinar to discuss “Special Education: The Basics,” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
The workshop will cover the identification process, testing, understanding the IEP, the role of special education professionals and the language of special education. The objective of this webinar is to help families better support their child and have a better understanding of their special education services.
“This is a great opportunity to learn more about navigating your child’s IEP, and partnering with school to meet their needs,” said Michael Brannigan, the director of Social and Emotional Learning and School Development at Queensbury Union Free School District.
