Virtual reopening panel to take place Thursday, Aug. 6

Dear parents/guardians,

I wanted to share some important information with you about our plans for reopening in the fall.

Reopening plan

On Friday, July 31, the reopening plan was posted on the district website. Please take time to review the plan.

Virtual panel Aug. 6

I hope you can join us tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 6, from 6:30-7:45 p.m. for our virtual panel discussion to address reopening. The discussion will be livestreamed on YouTube. If you are unable to watch live, the video will archive on YouTube and can be watched any time after the meeting.

The panel will be moderated by QMS Principal Mike Brannigan. QES Principal Jessica Rossetti; WHBI Principal Gwynne Cosh; QHS Principal Damian Switzer; Warren County Public Health Services Director Ginelle Jones; QUFSD Medical Director Dr. Kyle Leonard; Director of Health and Physical Education and COVID-19 Safety Coordinator Rich Keys and Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon will serve as panelists answering the community’s questions.

FAQ available Friday, Aug. 7

I know our families have questions regarding what our reopening entails. As a result, we plan to publish a reopening FAQ on our district website by the end of the day Friday, Aug. 7. Please review the FAQ when it is published on Friday for additional reopening information.

I want to assure you that the safety of our students and staff members continues to be our top priority. We are actively working to ensure everyone in Queensbury is Spartan SAFE!

Sincerely,

Kyle L. Gannon
Superintendent of Schools
