The PTA represents parents and teachers working together to promote the welfare, success, and greater achievement in our children. The PTA supports numerous activities to enrich and expand on our children’s education, provides funding that supports school based programs and other activities, and offers many opportunities for families to develop friendships and have fun outside of school.
Why join the PTA?
The number one reason to join the PTA is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school. Your membership dues and money from our fundraising efforts help support school run programs. PTA membership means making a difference in the lives of children. If you wish to join the PTA, fill out the membership form and send it into school via your child’s folder. Label the envelope “PTA” and your child’s teacher will forward this to the PTA mailbox.
Stay connected
There is no better way to know what’s happening in your child’s school than getting involved in the PTA. Share ideas, concerns, and experiences, and foster a closer relationship with other parents and educators. If you are interested, contact a committee chairperson to offer assistance in a variety of programs and projects or contact a PTA officer. And you can sign up to get email updates from the PTA president.
Speak up
Because the PTA is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions. Through the PTA, you can help to develop a united effort to secure the highest advantages in physical, mental, and social education. The PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change in your child’s school.
Witness changes
The PTA plays an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs and social events — all vital to a school’s success.
Be a role model
By joining the PTA and getting involved at your child’s school, you will be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
