Students from the Queensbury Union Free School District helped plant a purple lilac shrub on May 8 in the campus arboretum.

“Arbor Day is all about planting trees and creating different spaces,” said Maren Stoddard from the Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District. “We’re celebrating the benefits of those trees, and we’re recognizing why they’re important to us.”

Every student scooped dirt into the hole to help plant the bush then broke into teams to search for evidence of the invasive spotted lanternfly.
