Flyer for an upcoming webinar.

The second Parents as Partners webinar will focus on reading and literacy skills.

Renee Beaulieu will offer a virtual workshop to discuss “Ways to Encourage a Love of Reading and Strengthen Your Early Reader’s Literacy Skills,” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20.

During this webinar, Beaulieu will introduce various strategies to engage your child in developing vocabulary, background knowledge and verbal reasoning to enhance your child's reading skills.

Beaulieu will discuss the skills that are foundational to the science of reading and how to use these comprehension skills to reinforce your child's learning. The webinar will look at several ways to engage your child during outings, while engaging in daily activities and creating word games you can play throughout the day.

“Fostering a love of reading not only builds essential literacy skills, but also strengthens a child’s confidence, curiosity and connection with the world around them,” said Christine Delaney, Queensbury Union Free School District’s director of Social and Emotional Learning and UPK.  “This webinar offers families meaningful ways to nurture both academic growth and emotional development through everyday reading experiences.”
