Musicians play in the U.S. Navy Band.

Queensbury High School will host the United States Navy Band at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 in the high school Blue Gym.

The U.S. Navy Concert Band, the premier wind ensemble of the U.S. Navy, presents a wide array of marches, patriotic selections, orchestral transcriptions and modern wind ensemble repertoire. As the original ensemble of the Navy Band, the Concert Band has been performing public concerts and participating in high-profile events for more than 95 years.

Concerts are family friendly and designed to connect each community with the Navy while celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States. The Concert Band performance will include works by John Williams, Joseph Turrin, Alberto Ginastera, John Philip Sousa and Aaron Copland.

The musicians will be working with Queensbury band students in the afternoon and performing a concert in the evening. The concert is free and open to the public, although the U.S. Navy Band would like concert goers to reserve tickets through this online link: U.S. Navy Band Tickets
