Ten Queensbury High School students became the newest members of the French Honor Society during a Feb. 26 ceremony conducted in both French and English.
“The goal of this organization is to stimulate interest in the study of French, promote high standards of scholarship, reward scholastic achievements, create enthusiasm and understanding of French and francophone culture, promote and perpetuate international friendship, and to reward efforts toward furthering solidarity in the French speaking world,” said Meghan Chance, society advisor.
French Honor Society membership is based on scholarship in French coursework, leadership and participation in French activities, and an interest in the French language and francophone culture. The students who will be recognized here tonight have maintained an overall A- average or higher in their French courses, and have at least an B+ average for their overall Queensbury GPA.
