Queensbury Musical cast performs on the mainstage at Proctors.

For the cast of Queensbury’s “The Addams Family: School Edition,” it’s all about family.

Queensbury High School Musical’s production took home the award for Outstanding Ensemble during the High School Musical Theatre Awards at Proctors Theatre on May 16.

In accepting the honor, seniors Finley Magee, who played Morticia Addams, and Michael Corlew, who played an ancestor, thanked director Andrew Terry, choreographer Sara Terry, musical director Matthew Gaulin, costumer Sharon Greene, stage manager Amanda Magee and set designer Sean Magee.

“Winning this award truly takes a village, and my cast has done a flawless job becoming a real community,” Corlew said on stage. “We won this award not because of what we produced onstage, but the bond we created outside and backstage.”

The ensemble performed “When You’re an Addams” during the show. Delaney Sano, who played Wednesday Addams, and Nicholas Merzig, who played Fester Addams — both nominated for Outstanding Lead Performer — performed in the opening and closing acts and during the show. Queensbury was also nominated for Outstanding Musical (Tier A) and Outstanding Choreography.

“Looking back on the past four years I’ve spent in this program, I can see how much our cast and crew has grown, and now it’s finally paid off,” Finley Magee said on stage. “I’m so honored to be up here representing the family that we’ve created in the Queensbury auditorium.”
