Queensbury High School seniors received their first college acceptance letters on Wednesday, Sept. 30 as the entire Class of 2027
“We want you to know that we want you and we’ve got a spot for you, and we’re ready for you,” said SUNY Adirondack President Anastasia Urtz. “Today is the day.”
Urtz touted a number of successful programs at the college.
“But the academic part isn’t the only part,” Urtz said. “We’re also a lot of fun. We have lots of clubs and activities. We have a beautiful campus.”
Queensbury Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon thanked Urtz and her staff for welcoming at least 50 Queensbury grads each year to SUNY Adirondack.
“SUNY Adirondack provides an excellent pathway for our students to take college-level courses while they’re still in high school and continue their education after graduation,” Gannon said. “That partnership saves our students time and money as they continue their educational journey beyond Queensbury High School.
Jenna Frank, assistant director of admissions and a Queensbury grad, welcomed the seniors to the SUNY Adirondack family.
“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter full of possibilities, growth and success,” said French, who pointed out that many SUNY Adirondack graduates leave debt-free.
The event concluded with a T-shirt toss and photos with SUNY Adirondack’s mascot timber wolf “Eddy Rondack.”
