Thirteen Queensbury High School students were named Students of the Quarter on Thursday, May 1.
Student of the Quarter recognizes students for their character as well as their academic success. Parents were invited to a small breakfast ceremony to honor the students.
“We want our kids to be successful, we want them to succeed academically,” said QHS Principal Andrew Snide, “but at the end of the day we really want our kids to be good citizens of our community here and outside of the school building.”
Snide congratulated the parents for raising children who demonstrate character. Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon called the students the “elite of the elite” and told the students to thank their parents.
“It’s a team effort here today,” Gannon said. “Yes, we’re celebrating you, but we’re celebrating your families. We’re celebrating everyone that got you to this point.”
