Queensbury High School Spanish teacher Leah Grady has been selected by the New York State Association for Language Teachers to receive the Ruth E. Wasley NYS World Language Teacher of the Year Award.
This award is given to a NYSAFLT member who has demonstrated excellence in K-12 foreign language teaching.
Grady, who was nominated by Queensbury High School Principal Andrew Snide, will be honored and will accept the award at the NYSAFLT’s annual conference award banquet in Albany on Oct. 17. She will also be recognized at the 2026 Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages conference in February and will be an automatic nominee for the NECTFL Teacher of the Year award competition.
